It's All About Ajit's Story
I consider myself a polymath, combining knowledge of agriculture, exports and niche products like raw banana powder into my work.
My journey has never been about following a predefined path—it has always been about building one with purpose.
I began my professional career with the Government of India, serving for over 23 years in the Office of the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ SEZ, under the Department of Commerce. This role placed me at the heart of India’s export ecosystem, where I worked closely with MSMEs in electronics, IT, and gems & jewellery sectors. Over time, I developed a strong understanding of Foreign Trade Policy, regulatory frameworks, and the operational realities of Indian exporters.
From starting as a Lower Division Clerk to becoming Assistant to the Development Commissioner, my career reflected steady growth. But internally, I knew I wanted more than progression—I wanted creation. I wanted to build something that carried my identity, my values, and my vision.
Driven by this desire, I made a life-changing decision to step away from a secure government career and start from zero. With a deep belief in sustainability and rural development, I began an agricultural pilot project—without prior farming experience and focused on cultivating aromatic and medicinal crops such as Patchouli, Vetiver, and Lemongrass, with the vision of creating a sustainable economic model for local farmers.
The journey was far from easy. I faced uncertainty, failures, and the daily realities of farming. But persistence and belief in the vision kept me moving forward and successful production of the essential oil.
That phase of my life was not just a project—it was a transformation. It reshaped my confidence, sharpened my purpose, and reinforced my belief in ethical, value-driven work. This “second innings” led me to the world of international trade, where I founded Gondwana Treasures.
Instead of becoming a conventional exporter, I chose a different path—to become a trusted sourcing partner. Today, I work closely with Indian MSMEs, farmers, and manufacturers, helping global buyers source products like raw banana powder, gluten-free ingredients, organic fertilizers, and sustainable agricultural inputs with complete confidence.
My strength lies in understanding both sides—Indian supply capabilities and international buyer expectations—and bridging that gap with integrity, transparency, and precision.
For me, this is not just business. It is about creating meaningful connections, enabling growth for Indian manufacturers, and delivering consistent value to global partners.
Today, through Gondwana Treasures, I act as a trusted sourcing partner:
Helping global buyers confidently source niche, high-quality products from verified Indian MSMEs.
Supporting Indian MSMEs to enter and grow in domestic and international markets with quality, compliance, and trust.
Focusing on raw banana powder, gluten-free flours and bakery premixes, organic fertilizers, and sustainable agricultural products.
I bring verified supplier identification, strong regulatory understanding, alignment with international quality standards, and transparent, long-term partnership thinking.
If you’re looking to source from India with confidence—or to expand your MSME reach into global markets—I’d be glad to connect.
